Cap Grundheber is a multi-media artist, in the original sense of the word;
she uses diverse mediums to create a unified whole. The way she engages with
her environment reveals a connection with the 60's era: a departure from
the frame, dissolving and new formations and the emergence of a movement;
it was a time when the moon itself was not so distant.
Cap arranges large-format, torn up and newly configured photographic works.
The process by which she handles the pictures is a reaction to the contemporary
flood of electronic information and its manipulation through media groups
and individuals. The act of transformation allows the image the opportunity
of being released from these constraints: 'back to the roots', or better
'back to the essence'. In this way ladders, typewriters, people and landscapes
greet their newfound freedom. Together, with objects, text and other elements,
they create an environment whose impression can best be described as: 'The future is undecided, we will also be part of it'.
The highlight of the exhibition is a mysterious box filled with references
to the artist Joe Jones (1934-1993) and his music.
The exhibition Joe's Bar invites you to linger, listen and dream.
