takt kunstprojektraum is an evolving project incorporating a gallery and artist residency program in the East Berlin neighbourhood of Friedrichshain. This is a non-profit, artist-run effort, which ws founded in 2003. The goals of the project are to promote the arts as a means of exchange and communication. The exchange of ideas and culture serves to build dynamic networks among artists and other progressive thinkers that will help inform and assist the development of a positive living environment, both locally and globally.
The gallery has a rotating schedule of curated exhibitions as well as opportunities for artists from the residency program to exhibit work or host events. We seek to show new work by active artists in any medium. The residency program is set up to host artists visiting Berlin. We offer live/work studios in a community enviroment.
